Insomnia - Getting a Better Night's Sleep Self Hypnosis Cds

One of the most important aspects of our daily routine is sleep. Sleep is a necessity if we are going to function during our waking hours with competence and with sufficient energy to do what we have chosen to do with our lives (work and play).

Occasionally, all of us will have a broken night's sleep. In other words we won't enjoy what we would consider a normal sleep for us. Let me be clear that we are all different and we all have different sleeping patterns. Some people need to sleep for 9 hours or more whilst others can function on much less. It is said that that Margaret Thatcher found 4 or 5 hours of sleep more than enough for her needs. It is when our sleep is disturbed and we may use the expression 'tossing and turning' that our sleep is considered not to be as good as we would have liked.

Temporary worries or concerns can 'play on one's mind' and cause your sleep to be disturbed. Any kind or abnormal stress such as from a divorce, relationship difficulty, financial troubles or any other life issues can be at the root of a sleep problem.

Most sleep problems are due to temporary issues as listed above. If you are unable to sleep over a long period of time then your should consult your doctor.

Sleep has a certain amount of habit about it and you can develop a good habit of sleep or you can mess up that habit.

If you are experiencing insomnia here are some useful tips that may just crack it for you: -

1) Make sure the bedroom is kept for sleep and lovemaking only.
2) Do NOT read in bed. Read in a different room and then when you have finished reading go to your bedroom.
3) Do NOT have computers or televisions situated in your bedroom if you can help it.
4) Try to go to bed at roughly the same time of night.
5) Try to deal with anything you need to deal with before you go to bed. Remember the old expression "don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today"
6) If you have something on your mind, or are worried about forgetting something that you have to do the next day, write a note to yourself. That way you can know with confidence that you won't forget.
7) Clean your bed linen on a regular basis. A nice clean bed will help you feel good when you lie in it.
8) De-clutter your bedroom. Clear out all the old rubbish and anything you have stored there. The less cluttered your bedroom is the nicer the environment it will be for sleeping in.
9) Have a nice aroma in your bedroom. Lavender is supposed to help create an ambience of calm and relaxation.
10) A hot bath about 30 minutes before going to bed will help relax your muscles which in turn will help you to sleep.
11) If you find you can't get to sleep DON'T lie in bed tossing and turning. Get up and go to another room and do something until you start to feel tired. When you do go back to bed again.
12) Introduce a mental relaxation regime into your life. Think about taking up yoga, meditation or learning self hypnosis. All these techniques help to quieten the mind and bring about physical relaxation.

Remember that sleep is vital to your well-being. Sleep deprivation can lead to increased stress levels amongst other things. Many people find that a self hypnosis cd can help restore the good sleep habits. You can even listen to the Insomnia hypnosis cd in bed and go to sleep to it.
